Sam Sorge Named One of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week

Sam Sorge, member of the women's basketball team, has been named one of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 17. Sorge helped Nazareth open its 2014-2015 season with a pair of victories at the Brockport Tournament. She hit five three-pointers and scored a team-high 17 points in a 66-56 come-from-behind win over Brockport.

Dan Burke Named One of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week

Dan Burke, member of the men's swimming and diving team, has been name one of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week for the period ending December 12, 2014. Burke set a pair of school records as he excelled for Nazareth at the Ithaca Invitational. He broke his own school record with a time of 1:50.71 to win the 200-yard backstroke and also finished fourth (behind only three swimmers from Cornell) with a time of 4:08.60 in the 400-yard IM.

Danielle Wilkin Named One of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week

Danielle Wilkin, member of the women's soccer team, has been named one of Nazareth's Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 17. Wilkin helped the Golden Flyers advance to the round of 16 in the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament as she scored a goal and delivered a key penalty kick as Nazareth moved past Amherst in the second-round match.

Lindsey Kelly Named One of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week

Lindsey Kelly, member of the women's basketball team, has been named one of Nazareth's Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 24. Kelly combined game highs in points (17) and rebounds (11) in a 59-43 non-conference victory over Fredonia.

Dominik Gabaj Named one of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week

Dominik Gabaj, member of the men's ice hockey team, has been named one of Nazareth's Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 24. Gabaj helped Nazareth to a pair of big conference wins with a goal and two assists in a 5-0 home-ice win over Manhattanville. He then scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in a 3-2 win over Neumann.

Maurice Mills Earns Two Athletic Honors

Maurice Mills has been named Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week for the period ending November 30 and one of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week for the week ending December 1. Mills, member of the men's basketball team, helped Nazareth secure its first victory of the season as he scored a career-high 38 points and equaled a career high with 16 rebounds in a 89-78 non-conference win over Keystone.

Ed Zdolshek Earns Athletic Honors at Nazareth College

Ed Zdolshek, member of the men's ice hockey team, has been named one of Nazareth College's November Scholar-Athletes of the month as well as one of the College's Athletes of the Week for the period ending November 10. He helped Nazareth gain a tie and a win on the road as he totaled 61 saves on 67 shots faced for a .910 save percentage. In seven starts for November, Zdolshek had 207 saves for a .920 save percentage and a 2.54 goals-against average.

Tyler Carr Earns Athletic Honors at Nazareth College

Tyler Carr, member of the women's soccer team, has been named one of Nazareth's November Scholar-Athletes of the Month as well as one of the College's Athletes of the Week for the period ending November 10. She helped Nazareth claim a share of the Empire 8 Conference title in women's soccer as she was named Most Valuable Player of the four-team tournament Nov. 7-8 at Ithaca.

Nazareth College Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures to present family performances of "Fuji, and les Fant?mes de los Sue?os Perdidos" February 27-28

The Nazareth College Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures will present "Fuji, and les Fantômes de los Sueños Perdidos," an original, multilingual play by department faculty member, Dr. Candide Carrasco. The show runs Friday, February 27, 2015 at 8 p.m., and Saturday, February 28 at 2:30 p.m., in Callahan Theater at the Nazareth College Arts Center. "Fuji, and les Fantômes de los Sueños Perdidos will be performed in English, with some French, Spanish, and Italian." The "Fuji, and les Fantômes de los Sueños Perdidos" cast consists of Nazareth College students and faculty, as well as local actors.

Winners of Nazareth College Department of Music Concerto/Aria and Composition competitions join Nazareth Symphony Orchestra in annual RISING STARS concert

The Nazareth College Department of Music Symphony Orchestra, conducted by  assistant professor Nancy Strelau, will present its annual Rising Stars concert on Friday, February 13, 2015 featuring the 80-member orchestra and the winners of two on-campus music competitions. This performance is free and open to the public.

Students from Nazareth College Theatre and Dance Department place in the 2015 American College Theater Festival

Fifteen Nazareth College Theater Arts Department students participated in the American College Theater Festival -- a nationwide program sponsored by the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. --  in Cleveland, Ohio January 2-6, 2015. Nazareth entered 13 students into competition for the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship Auditions (IRs), and 10 in the Musical Theater Initiative (MTI) competition. Of those students, two went on to the IR finals, and five to the MTI finals.

The Nazareth College Theatre and Dance Department and Theatre League will present CIRCLE MIRROR TRANSFORMATION, a glimpse into contemporary American life, as the third production of their 2014-2015 Season. Lindsey Kelly, member of the women's basketball team, has been named Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week for the period ending November 16. She helped the Golden Flyers to a pair of season-opening victories at the Brockport Tip-Off Tournament as she totaled 32 points and 17 rebounds.

Tyler Carr Earns Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Year Honors

Tyler Carr, member of the women's soccer team, has earned Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Year honors. Carr helped the Golden Flyers to an Empire 8 conference championship and an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament this past weekend following a 2-0 win over Stevens and a 0-0 tie with Ithaca. Carr was named Empire 8 MVP for the tournament.

Nazareth College's Women's Soccer Team Declared Empire 8 Co-Champions

The Nazareth College's women's soccer team played Ithaca College in a 0-0 tie and were declared Empire 8 Conference co-champions. Nazareth then gained the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament by virtue of a 4-3 advantage in the post-game penalty kick session.

David Seward Named to ECAC West Honor Roll

David Seward, member of the men's ice hockey team, has been named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) West Honor Roll. Seward scored two goals in a 5-4 win over the 14th-ranked Utica Pioneers. His second goal in the third period proved to be the game-winning goal.

James Wheeler Named One of Nazareth College's Scholar-Athletes of the Month

James Wheeler, member of the men's soccer team, has been named Scholar-Athlete of the Month for Nazareth College. Wheeler has enabled the Golden Flyers to remain in contention for a playoff berth in the Empire 8 Conference with a 3-3 record in E8 games with all three victories coming in the month of October. After missing all of last season with a knee injury, Wheeler has returned to the Golden Flyers' lineup in 2014 and has contributed two goals and one assist.

Gabrielle LeBihan Earns One of Nazareth College's Athlete of the Week Honors

Gabrielle LeBihan, member of the women's cross country team, has earned one of Nazareth college's Athlete of the Week Honors. LeBihan earned first-team Empire 8 Conference all-star honors for the second year in a row after placing second at the conference championship meet at Saratoga State Park. LeBihan covered the 3.04-mile course in 17:56.5 and helped the Golden Flyers to a third-place finish in the team standings with 84 points.

Allison Dobles Earns Empire 8 Conference Defensive Player of the Week

Allison Dobles, member of the women's soccer team, has been named Empire 8 Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the period ending November 2, 2014. Dobles helped the Golden Flyers close out their regular-season schedule with a 0-0 tie at eighth-ranked William Smith and a 2-1 victory at Skidmore. She had several key stops and finished with a career-high 11 saves overall in scoreless stalemate at William Smith for her fifth shutout of the season.

Jennifer Hicks Named Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week

Jennifer Hicks, member of the women's volleyball team, has been named Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week for the period ending November 2, 2014. Hicks helped the Golden Flyers win four of five matches as they improved to 25-9 overall. She posted a .458 hitting percentage with 41 kills and 21 blocks. She hit .474 (11-2-19) in a five-set loss at Brockport last, then .471 (10-2-17) with seven blocks in a four-set win over Geneseo.
