Nazareth college's women's volleyball team won the Empire 8 title for the third straight year.

Maria Allocco has been named most Valuable Player of the Empire 8 Conference Tournament for women's volleyball. She has been named Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Tom Seravalli, member of Nazareth's men's hockey team, earns ECAC (Eastern College Athletic Conference) Honors.

Tom Seravalli named Athlete of the Week for Nazareth College for the week ending November 11. Seravalli, member of the men's hockey team, helped Nazareth to a 1-1-1 week in men's hockey after helping the team defeat Brockport.

Maria Allocco has been named Athlete of the Week for Nazareth College. Member of the women's volleyball team, Allocco was named MVP for the third year in a row as Nazareth captured its third straight Empire 8 Conference championship.

Elizabeth Howell, member of the Women's Soccer Team, has been named Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 28.

Matthew Leverich, member of the men's swimming and diving team, has been named Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 28.

Bethany Novak, senior goalkeeper for Nazareth College, has been named Empire Defensive Player of the Week.

Daniel Burke, sophomore backstroker for Nazareth College, named Empire 8 Conference Swimmer of the Week.

Maria Allocco, junior middle blocker for Nazareth College, has been named Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week for her strong performance.

Freshman Nate Ripic has been named the Empire 8 Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his 11-save performance against St. John Fisher on October 19.

Rowan Collins, of Albany, N.Y., is a senior at Nazareth College. He was recognized by the Empire State Pride Agenda for his work as an activist for transgender rights and social justice.

Senior Alison Tepas, who won the New York State title at first singles over the weekend, has been honored as Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week. The award marks the second time that Tepas has been honored this season by the E8.

A group of 18 students were recently inducted into local Nazareth College chapter of the national Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society on Sunday, October 20, 2013.

Kassandra Buseck, junior outside hitter on the Nazareth women's volleyball team, has been named Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week for the period that ended Oct. 13. Buseck, of Johnstown, N.Y. and a graduate of Johnstown High School, guided the Golden Flyers to five non-conference victories last week as she totaled 36 kills (3.27 per set) in 65 attempts for a .415 hitting percentage. She also had four service aces and six blocks.

The Nazareth College Department of Theatre Arts and Theatre League will present "Urinetown the Musical," the debut production of their 2013-2014 season.

Jordan Ritchie, member of the Field Hockey Team, Earns Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 5. Ritchie ranks among the Golden Flyers' leading scorers in 2013 with 11 points on four goals and three assists, including two goals and an assist in three games last week. She scored Nazareth's lone goal in a 2-1 loss to Ithaca on Saturday and then added an assist in a 5-0 win at Wells Sunday. She also scored a goal in last Tuesday's 7-2 loss at Cortland.

Matthew Fedrizzi Earns College Athlete of the Week

Gabrielle LeBihan is the Nazareth College Female Athlete of the Week for week ending Sept. 28. She has been the Golden Flyers' top runner this season and continued to set the pace at Saturday's Harry F. Anderson Invitational at Roberts Wesleyan. LeBihan finished 17th among 200 runners with a time of 19:06.5 for 5 kilometers. Her time ranks among the top 10 Nazareth times all-time for that distance.

Simon Mounsdon is named Nazareth College Men's Athlete of the Week for week ending Sept. 28. He scored two goals Saturday to lift the Golden Flyers to a 3-2 home win over Elmira in an Empire 8 Conference game. He scored unassisted in the 30th minute to tie the score at 1-1 before halftime. He then broke a 2-2 tie with the game-winning score with less than eight minutes to play in regulation. Mounsdon has three goals and one assist on the season.

Michaela Soules, freshman midfielder on the Nazareth College women's soccer team, has been named Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week for the period that ended Sept. 15.

Sergeant earns Athlete of the Week Honors

Porter was Nazareth top representative over the weekend as the Golden Flyers competed in the William Smith Invitational at Clifton Springs Country Club. Porter followed up Saturday's nine-hole score of 45 with a 91 on Sunday to place herself in a tie for third invdividually with a total score of 136.

Fedrizzi was the Golden Flyers' top finisher at Saturday's Yellowjacket Invitational at Genesee Valley Park as he placed 33rd with a time of 27:24 for 8 kilometers. Fedrizzi's time was just four seconds off his best time for that distance.

Sarah Wazenkewitz named Nazareth College athlete of the week.
