Nazareth University students named to the spring 2024 Dean's List.

Nazareth University students presented original research papers at the Central/Western New York Regional Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society conference on April 27, 2024, at University of Buffalo. Nazareth students joined peers from other New York colleges and universities including Buffalo State University, Ithaca College, Le Moyne, SUNY Brockport, SUNY Geneseo, and University of Buffalo.

Nazareth students named to the Dean's List for fall 2023.

A prestigious scholarship enabled Nazareth nursing and public health student Thelma Burgos to go to Finland to explore its health care system and what could improve the United States' approach. Her short-term study abroad experience at Finland's Laurea University in May was supported by a Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship from the U.S. State Department.

Matthew Roberson earned a 2023 Phi Kappa Phi study abroad grant from the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society - and he will study in Scotland in fall 2023.

Katherine Markello earned a 2023 Phi Kappa Phi study abroad grant from the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. She recently studied in Florence, Italy.

Carolyn Carlic '23 earned a 2023 Phi Kappa Phi study abroad grant from the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society and she studied in Rome, Assisi, and Florence, Italy, from June 3-16, 2023.

Nazareth College students earned their degrees at the 96th annual Commencement ceremony that took place at Nazareth College on May 13, 2023.

Three Nazareth College students studying for a career in the medical field believe learning firsthand about different cultures will help them better understand future patients. Ariana Montalvo '24, Nam Dinh '25, and Bervelly Sainteme '24, are getting study abroad experience through prestigious 2023 Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships from the U.S. Department of State. They are among just 1,500 students chosen nationwide for the scholarship.

She has a passion for social justice activism, and she's making an impact in Rochester and beyond with her community engaged learning. Meet Nina DeMilta '24, a 2023 Newman Civic Fellow.

Working with three student teammates around the globe to help a backpack business expand has earned Adrien Stone '22 top global honors in a competition against more than 6,100 students from 171 universities. Stone and his teammates earned the Best Team Award, placing them in the top 1% worldwide among more than 1,100 student teams in the X-Culture Academy competition. "The experience of being on a global virtual team was challenging and very rewarding," said Stone, who graduated in May and is now working full-time at Wegmans as a service team leader. "The experience put me outside of my comfort zone. It was the first time I had ever worked on a virtual team, let alone a team with members from across the world. Challenges consisted of having to work across time zone differentials, and breaking work into very small segments with clear instructions for other team members who do not have English as a first language." X-Culture Academy invites businesses worldwide to ask for help, giving students international business experience as they develop solutions for their clients. Each team was presented with an international business challenge and the students had two months to develop a solution. Mentored by his professor Jennifer S.A. Leigh from Nazareth's School of Business and Leadership, Stone worked with students Alec Gougeon of University of North Carolina - Greensboro, Joseph Nyiri of the University of the West of England in United Kingdom; and Yash Shantilal Khadke of Indira School of Business Studies in India. The team worked on a business case for Jacpack, a Colombian backpack company, and their report was evaluated by a half dozen independent experts. Stone says his favorite moment from the experience was submitting his team's final report. "I really realized how hard each of my teammates and I had worked for 6-8 weeks while balancing our other schoolwork, jobs, and personal lives," said Stone. "I was truly proud of the work we produced. Knowing that we were helping a real-life business expand was an added bonus." Stone and his team will be invited to the 2023 X-Culture symposium and X-Culture coaching program. Stone has advice for future business students at Nazareth. "Don't be afraid to take the chance, take a leap of faith," said Stone. "A global business experience like X-Culture will open your eyes and sharpen your communication and collaboration skills unlike any other experience you will have as a student!"

Nazareth College students earned their degrees at the 95th annual Commencement ceremony that took place at Nazareth College on May 14, 2022.

Nazareth College history honors students recently traveled to Pennsylvania to present at the eastern Pennsylvania and central/western New York Regional Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society conference at Mansfield University. Nazareth was among 10 colleges and universities presenting a total of 34 papers.

Nazareth junior Ivy Dulysz '23 (they/she), a music therapy major, has been selected for a 2022 Newman Civic Fellowship to recognize and advance their work pursuing equity for people with autism and other marginalized groups

Two Nazareth College students looking to enrich their future careers in education are traveling abroad to both France and Austria in spring 2022 with the help of Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships from the U.S. Department of State. Elyse Yanusas '24, a sophomore majoring in French, history, and inclusive adolescent education, will spend the spring 2022 semester studying in Rennes, France. Min Gonzalez '23 is a junior majoring in music education and cello performance. He will use the Gilman scholarship toward a short-term study abroad experience to Austria for three weeks in May-June 2022.

Nazareth students named to the Fall 2021 Dean's List.

Nazareth College student Meghan Brooks '22, a double major in Spanish and Chinese who wants to teach, was awarded a U.S. Department of State Critical Language Scholarship to advance her study of Mandarin. Due to the global pandemic, the majority of CLS institutes in 2021 were virtual programs. Brooks studied Mandarin virtually this past summer for eight weeks through Tamkang University in Taiwan.

Morgan Beaton received the 2021 National Association for Music Education (NAfME) Collegiate Professional Achievement Award. This award recognizes outstanding commitment and dedication to the association and music education.

Nazareth College inducted its seventh class into the College's chapter of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi-the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline honor society.

Tayla Bunn '22 is recognized for her commitment to solving societal problems.

Nazareth College student Meghan Brooks has earned a prestigious Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship from the U.S. Department of State. Brooks, '22, is a double major in Spanish and Chinese. She is scheduled to study in Chengdu, China in the fall of 2021, where she will take courses in Chinese language, history, and culture. Brooks is among more than 900 college students nationwide selected to receive the award.
