Hickey Center for Interfaith Studies and Dialogue Holds News Conference on JCC Bomb Threats, March 13, TODAY

Rochester's Interfaith Leadership responds to recent threats to the Jewish Community Center and Desecration of a Jewish Cemetery

Rochester, NY (03/13/2017) — The interfaith community of the Greater Rochester Area is appalled and deeply saddened over the continuous bomb threats to the Jewish Community Center and the desecration of the cemetery. We have a long history of building interfaith relations serving all, irrespective of faith, ethnicity, race, and gender.   We never thought that this would happen in Rochester area.

The interfaith leadership will hold  a press conference today, Monday, March 13, at 3:00PM in the Relief Society Room on the north side at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on 1400 Westfall Road, Rochester, NY 14618.

The recent rise in hateful language, bomb threats, and attacks are un-American whether it targets individuals or a community. As an interfaith community we condemn hateful attacks, threats or insults that are not only contrary to the America we love but are a threat against us all. As we stood together in the past we resolve to stand together as an unbreakable chain to return hate with love and darkness with light

All print and electronic media is invited to cover the press conference.
