Awakening Retreat and Public Talk: Finding Refuge and Resilience in a Turbulent World, May 2, 3-4

Renowned Buddhist Teacher Anam Thubten Rinpoche to Lead transformative weekend at Nazareth University

Rochester, NY (04/10/2025) — Can the uncertainty and disruption of current times help people rediscover their most authentic and resilient selves? An upcoming retreat offers a path to find out. Join the Dharma Refuge and Nazareth University communities for a public talk and weekend retreat with Anam Thubten Rinpoche. This immersive experience will offer wisdom teachings and meditations designed to help participants recognize and rest in their unconditioned state of being - an innate source of refuge and resilience. No prior meditation experience or familiarity with Dharma (wisdom) teachings is required. This retreat is open to all.

All registrants are asked to attend the full retreat. It concludes with an optional Bodhisattva vow ceremony (a commitment to compassionate service to humanity).

About Anam Thubten Rinpoche

Anam Thubten Rinpoche, founder and spiritual teacher of Dharmata Foundation in Richmond, California, is known for his engaging, accessible approach to ancient wisdom. More than 20 years ago, he inspired the formation of the Dharma Refuge community, ordaining Sue Kochan as the guiding teacher.

About Dharma Refuge

Dharma Refuge is a Rochester-based Buddhist community dedicated to inspiring practitioners to awaken their greatest potential in service of all beings. The community practices under the spiritual direction of Guiding Teacher Sue Kochan, and they are open to all who wish to learn meditation and explore Buddhist teachings. Dharma Refuge operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in New York State.
