Taylor Pierson Named One of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week

Taylor Pierson, member of the women's track and field team, has been named one of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week for the period ending February 9. Pierson had her best performance of the indoor season after winning the long jump at the Brockport Mid-Season Classic. She leaped 5.56 meters (18 feet, 3 inches) to win the event and is now ranked eighth nationally.

Michaela Gildemeyer Named One of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week

Michaela Gildemeyer, member of the women's track and field team, has been named one of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week for the week ending January 19. Gildemeyer opened the second semester of the indoor season with a first-place finish in the 500-meter dash with a time of 1:20.93 at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) Tiger Invitational.

Mitch Ford Earns Two Athletic Honors

Mitch Ford, member of the men's basketball team, is one of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week and Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week, both for the periods ending January 19. He helped his team split a pair of Empire 8 Conference games as he averaged 28.5 points and 13.5 rebounds in games against Alfred and Utica.

Cameron Hess Named One of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week

Cameron Hess, member of the women's swimming and diving team, has been named one of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week for the week ending January 26. She won a total of four races as her team split a pair of dual meets. Hess won the 400- and 800-meter freestyles in 4:42.14 and 9:34.20 against Fredonia. Then, she was first in the 200-yard IM (2:24.22) and swam on the winning 200-yard free relay (1:50.09).

Nazareth College women's soccer players Tyler Carr, Christine Belding and Michaela Soules were named to the All-East Region team for 2014 by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Grant Levermore Earns United Volleyball Conference (UVC) Player of the Week

Grant Levermore, member of the men's volleyball team, has been named United Volleyball Conference (UVC) Player of the Week for the period ending January 25. Levermore was named tournament MVP with a .531 hitting percentage. He also had 15 digs and give blocks.

Don Olivieri Earns ECAC West Honor Roll Recognition

Don Olivieri, member of the men's ice hockey team, has been named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) West Honor Roll for the week ending January 4, 2015. Olivieri earned this recognition after being named to the all-tournament team for the PathFinder Bank Tournament hosted by Oswego after he scored a pair of goals in Nazareth's 4-3 overtime victory over St. Scholastica.

Brandon Lane Named One of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week

Brandon Lane, member of the men's ice hockey team, has been named one of Nazareth's Athletes of the Week for the week ending December 1. In just his second start for the Golden Flyers, Lane amassed 32 saves in a 1-0 loss at Amherst. After surrendering the game's lone goal midway through the opening period, Lane kept the Lord Jeffs off the scoreboard the rest of the way.

Hannah Brackley Earns Empire 8 Conference Honors Three Weeks in a Row

Hannah Brackley, member of the women's indoor track and field team, has earned Empire 8 Conference honors for three weeks in a row. For the week ending January 18, Brackley finished first in the 400-meter dash with a time of :60.52. Brackley also earned this honor the following week for setting a 400-meter dash record with a time of :59.13 seconds and winning the event. She also won the 200-meter dash in :24.49. For the week ending February 8, Brackley broke her own school record in the 400-meter dash with a time of :57.86 and finished in fourth.

Nazareth Hockey Players Earn ECAC Weekly Honors

Three Nazareth College ice hockey players have earned Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference honors for the period ending November 23. Players honored: Ed Zdolshek, Dominik Gabaj and Oliver Janzen.

Maurice Mills Earns Athletic Honors

Maurice Mills, member of the men's basketball team, has been named Empire 8 Conference Co-Player of the Week for the week ending January 4 and one of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week for the week ending January 5. The honors mark the second time this season that Mills has been recognized by both the Empire 8 and Nazareth for his performance.

John Power Earns ECAC West Honor Roll Recognition

John Power, member of the men's ice hockey team, has been named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) West Honor Roll for the week ending January 4, 2015. Power earned this recognition after scoring the overtime game-winning goal against St. Scholastica for his first career goal.

Nick Nadeau Named One of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week

Nick Nadeau, member of the men's basketball team, has been named one of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week for the period ending January 12, 2015. Nadeau averaged 15 points in three games for the Golden Flyers. He had 17 points in a road loss to Houghton, 15 in a loss to Hartwick and 13 in a loss to Stevens.

Sam Sorge Named One of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week

Sam Sorge, member of the women's basketball team, has been named one of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week for the period ending January 12, 2015. Sorge averaged 13 points and four rebounds as Nazareth won two of three Empire 8 Conference games. She was instrumental in a 69-58 home-court win over Hartwick as she erupted for a game-high 22 points with six three-pointers.

Veronica Peck Named One of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week

Veronica Peck, member of the women's basketball team, has been named one of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week for the period ending January 5, 2015. Peck helped Nazareth to a pair of non-conference wins by averaging 17.5 points and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 52.2 percent (12-for-23) from the field. She scored 17 points with four three-pointers in a 67-65 win over Wesleyan on December 29 and then matched a career high with 18 points (with two three-pointers) in a 79-75 win over Oswego.

Hannah Brackley Named One of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week

Hannah Brackley, member of the women's indoor track and field team, has been named one of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week for the period ending December 8, 2014. Brackley ran on the Golden Flyers' 4 x 400-meter relay that placed sixth with a school-record time of 4:08.46. She also finished just a couple of ticks off her own school record in the 500-meter dash with a fifth-place time of 1:18.46.

Kimmy Lovett Named Empire 8 Rookie of the Year

Kimmy Lovett, member of the women's cross country team, has been named Empire 8 Rookie of the Year for cross country. She was the top freshman finisher at the E8 Conference meet at Saratoga State Park on November 1 as she finished in 21st place with a time of 19:11.0 for three miles. She also competed at the NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional race at Genesee Valley Park on November 15 and finished in 133rd place with a 6-kilometer time of 24:30.3.

Sam Sorge Named One of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week

Sam Sorge, member of the women's basketball team, has been named one of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 17. Sorge helped Nazareth open its 2014-2015 season with a pair of victories at the Brockport Tournament. She hit five three-pointers and scored a team-high 17 points in a 66-56 come-from-behind win over Brockport.

Dan Burke Named One of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week

Dan Burke, member of the men's swimming and diving team, has been name one of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week for the period ending December 12, 2014. Burke set a pair of school records as he excelled for Nazareth at the Ithaca Invitational. He broke his own school record with a time of 1:50.71 to win the 200-yard backstroke and also finished fourth (behind only three swimmers from Cornell) with a time of 4:08.60 in the 400-yard IM.

Danielle Wilkin Named One of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week

Danielle Wilkin, member of the women's soccer team, has been named one of Nazareth's Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 17. Wilkin helped the Golden Flyers advance to the round of 16 in the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament as she scored a goal and delivered a key penalty kick as Nazareth moved past Amherst in the second-round match.

Lindsey Kelly, member of the women's basketball team, has been named one of Nazareth's Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 24. Kelly combined game highs in points (17) and rebounds (11) in a 59-43 non-conference victory over Fredonia.

Dominik Gabaj Named one of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week

Dominik Gabaj, member of the men's ice hockey team, has been named one of Nazareth's Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 24. Gabaj helped Nazareth to a pair of big conference wins with a goal and two assists in a 5-0 home-ice win over Manhattanville. He then scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in a 3-2 win over Neumann.

Maurice Mills Earns Two Athletic Honors

Maurice Mills has been named Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week for the period ending November 30 and one of Nazareth College's Athletes of the Week for the week ending December 1. Mills, member of the men's basketball team, helped Nazareth secure its first victory of the season as he scored a career-high 38 points and equaled a career high with 16 rebounds in a 89-78 non-conference win over Keystone.

Ed Zdolshek Earns Athletic Honors at Nazareth College

Ed Zdolshek, member of the men's ice hockey team, has been named one of Nazareth College's November Scholar-Athletes of the month as well as one of the College's Athletes of the Week for the period ending November 10. He helped Nazareth gain a tie and a win on the road as he totaled 61 saves on 67 shots faced for a .910 save percentage. In seven starts for November, Zdolshek had 207 saves for a .920 save percentage and a 2.54 goals-against average.

Tyler Carr Earns Athletic Honors at Nazareth College

Tyler Carr, member of the women's soccer team, has been named one of Nazareth's November Scholar-Athletes of the Month as well as one of the College's Athletes of the Week for the period ending November 10. She helped Nazareth claim a share of the Empire 8 Conference title in women's soccer as she was named Most Valuable Player of the four-team tournament Nov. 7-8 at Ithaca.

Lindsey Kelly, member of the women's basketball team, has been named Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week for the period ending November 16. She helped the Golden Flyers to a pair of season-opening victories at the Brockport Tip-Off Tournament as she totaled 32 points and 17 rebounds.

Tyler Carr Earns Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Year Honors

Tyler Carr, member of the women's soccer team, has earned Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Year honors. Carr helped the Golden Flyers to an Empire 8 conference championship and an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament this past weekend following a 2-0 win over Stevens and a 0-0 tie with Ithaca. Carr was named Empire 8 MVP for the tournament.

Nazareth College's Women's Soccer Team Declared Empire 8 Co-Champions

The Nazareth College's women's soccer team played Ithaca College in a 0-0 tie and were declared Empire 8 Conference co-champions. Nazareth then gained the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament by virtue of a 4-3 advantage in the post-game penalty kick session.
