Women, Work, and AI: Preparing for the next workforce shift, April 30

MEDIA Interviews available 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Rochester, NY (04/29/2026) — A new study published in Forbes magazine says women may be at greater risk for job loss related to artificial intelligence, but the good news is nearly 70% of workers in careers with the greatest exposure to AI have the skills to adapt or switch roles.

Nazareth University is hosting Women, Work, and AI: Preparing for the Next Workforce Shift on Thursday, April 30, 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Shults Center Forum on campus. Four senior business and nonprofit female executives will examine the implications of what's changing, how leaders can prepare their organizations for these changes, what new roles and skills are emerging as AI adoption accelerates, and how women can position themselves for opportunities in an AI-driven economy.

The evening will feature a keynote from Karen Hobbs, senior vice president at Butler/Till and a Nazareth alumna. Hobbs will also join a panel discussion with Olivia Goldstein, CEO of Upstate Venture Connect and partner at StartFast Ventures, Karla George, CEO of FLX AI, and Lawana Jones, a chief technology officer and AI governance advisor. Jeffrey Allan, Ph.D., director of Nazareth's Institute for Responsible Technology, will moderate the discussion.
