The Princeton Review names Nazareth University to The Best 392 Colleges: 2027 edition

Rochester, NY (08/18/2026) — Nazareth University continues to be one of the nation's best institutions for undergraduates, according to The Princeton Review. Nazareth is once again featured in The Princeton Review's annual guide, The Best 392 Colleges: 2027 Edition.

Nazareth also made The Princeton Review's list of Best Student Support and Counseling Services at #19, and Best College Theater at #20. The 50 annual college rankings lists are entirely based on what students attending the schools in the Best Colleges book tell The Princeton Review about their colleges and their experiences via a student survey. Each ranking list reports the top 25 colleges (of the 392 in the book) in a specific category.

Only about 15% of America's 2,400 four-year colleges are profiled in the book. The Princeton Review does not rank the schools in The Best 392 Colleges hierarchically from 1 to 392. The Princeton Review chooses the colleges based on data it annually collects from surveys of 2,000 college administrators about their institutions' academic offerings and surveys of college students who rate their schools on dozens of topics and report on their campus experiences.

Nazareth University students celebrate their small class sizes, and students note that programs feel tailored to them, and that "Everything is meant to boost us." Many say "it's always so gorgeous" at Nazareth, particularly for "walking on the beautiful trails on campus." About one-third of Nazareth students are on an athletic team, and many students say they like to play recreational athletics like pickleball, basketball, and volleyball with friends. Students also point to the "many on-campus free events to attend," like "grocery bingo, midnight breakfast, [and] relaxation night." Students also boast that "it is incredibly easy to make friends at Nazareth University," especially if you're artistic or athletic, which are two of the main categories that come up when describing the population, along with being academically strong.

The Princeton Review is an education services company known for its tutoring, test-prep, admission services, books, and other learning resources. Headquartered in New York City, the company is not affiliated with Princeton University.
