Rochester Mayor addresses high school students at Nazareth College for 11th Annual Global Citizenship Conference, March 16

Malik Evans addresses students in morning keynote between 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Rochester, NY (03/15/2022) — Rochester Mayor Malik Evans and Eboo Patel, Ph.D., founder of the nationally-known Interfaith Youth Core (IFYC), will address more than 250 hundred high school students from across the Rochester area on Wednesday as they attend the 11th Annual Global Citizenship Conference: Resilience and Patience at Nazareth College. Sponsored by Nazareth's Hickey Center for Interfaith Studies and Dialogue, the conference is designed to give the future leaders of our world the tools to respond to intolerance, improve religious literacy, and show the etiquette required to work in a pluralistic world.

Attendees from 14 area high schools visit Nazareth College for the day from 9 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. and attend sessions like Encountering World Religions and Cultures and Experiencing Globalization: Resilience and Patience.

Mayor Evans will address the high school attendees in person at Nazareth College. Patel, who will speak via video - will discuss the complex landscape of religious diversity and the power of interfaith cooperation in the 21st century. Patel served on President Obama's Inaugural Faith Council
