Nazareth University hosts 2025 Active Minds Send Silence Packing Exhibit
Traveling exhibit aims to end the silence that surrounds mental health and suicide
Rochester, NY (04/10/2026) — Nazareth University is hosting a powerful traveling exhibit on Tuesday, April 14, meant to stop the silence surrounding mental health and suicide. The all-day exhibit is called Send Silence Packing, created by the group Active Minds, and is meant to communicate hope. Passersby are invited to walk among the Send Silence Packing backpacks - many of which were donated by families who lost a loved one to suicide - to view the photographs and read the personal stories attached to them.
Trigger warning - this event's content focuses on suicide and may be difficult or triggering for some attendees.
Nazareth has volunteers trained to assist at the exhibit as well as how to interact with someone who may be experiencing suicidality and connect them with the best mental health resources.
Since its inaugural display on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., in 2008, Send Silence Packing has reached over one million visitors and counting with messages of hope and help.
The Send Silence Packing exhibit is open to the public at Nazareth until 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
