Nazareth College requires full COVID-19 vaccination for all students, faculty, staff

Rochester, NY (06/04/2021) — Nazareth College is committed to giving its students a connected learning community with in-person educational and social experiences. To achieve this and to prioritize the health of its campus and the wider community, Nazareth College is requiring all students, faculty, staff, and contracted employees to complete the COVID-19 vaccination before returning to campus for the fall 2021 semester. Limited exemptions, such as religious and medical, will be granted, and reasonable accommodations provided under applicable law.

The decision was made in accordance with the recommendations of the American College Health Association, which made a statement recognizing that comprehensive COVID-19 vaccination is the most effective way for institutions of higher education to return to a safe, robust, on-campus experience for students. New York state also recommends that public and private colleges require vaccination.

Nazareth has answered a number of questions on a FAQ page.

MEDIA NOTE: Thank you for understanding that Nazareth College is unable to grant interview requests on the vaccine requirement at this time.
