Nazareth College Names Four New Members to Board of Trustees

Rochester, NY (09/03/2019) — The Nazareth College Board of Trustees welcomes Scott Chapman, Roger Friedlander, Aaron Newman, and Grant Randall as its newest board members.

Scott Chapman is the executive director of finance at Partners + Napier, a nationally recognized integrated creative agency based in Rochester, N.Y. Chapman was first introduced to Partners + Napier when he was working as an accountant at Insero and Company CPAs, and the agency was his client. He later joined the firm in 2008 as controller and was appointed to executive director of finance in 2012, leading finance, human resources, and information technology for the agency. In his 11 years with the firm, Chapman has overseen two acquisitions-deepening the agency's capabilities in high-growth areas and ensuring a strong growth trajectory. Prior to joining Partners + Napier, Chapman worked as chief financial officer for Marquis Media. Chapman earned his accounting degree from Nazareth College. He currently serves as a governor of the Genesee Valley Club in Rochester.

Roger Friedlander is a retired Rochester business executive and civic leader, and president of the Friedlander Family Foundation. His business initiatives began soon after his graduation from the University of Rochester in 1956; he and the late Henry Epstein worked at the Rochester Stationery Company. In 1960, the business partners purchased the company and soon changed the named to Spectrum Office Products. Under their leadership, the business became one of the largest office supply companies in the Northeast. In 1994, Spectrum was acquired by Staples. Friedlander retired as a vice president of Staples, Inc., and was a past president of Staples Business Advantage, and former corporate consultant for Staples. In 2016, the Rochester Business Journal inducted him into the Rochester Business Hall of Fame. He was awarded the Charles Force Hutchinson and Marjorie Smith Hutchinson Medal by the University of Rochester in 2012; this is the University's highest honor for alumni. In 2010, Friedlander and his wife Carolyn were recipients of the Outstanding Philanthropist Award by the Association of Fundraising Professionals. He also serves on the board of University of Rochester (U of R); the U of R Medical Center, and the Hillside Family Agencies.

Aaron Newman is the founder of BlocWatch, along with the co-founder and former executive chairman of CloudCheckr, Inc, a comprehensive cloud management solution. Newman is an entrepreneur who previously founded and sold three other successful start-up companies: Techrigy, DbSecure, and Application Security, Inc. He authored the books Enterprise 2.0 (printed by McGraw-Hill), and the Oracle Security Handbook (printed by Oracle Press). He is an acclaimed international speaker on technology topics and has been awarded multiple patents in database security and social media. Prior to launching his previous start-up companies, Newman held technology positions at Price Waterhouse and Bankers Trust, and also served as an independent IT consultant. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the first Gulf War. He graduated from Binghamton University with a business administration degree. Newman also serves on the board for The Strong Museum, and as president for the Rochester Rock Ice Snow Climbing Club. He is also the Founder of scale(585), a grassroots organization spearheaded by successful local entrepreneurs dedicated to showcasing the vibrant potential found in the Rochester, New York region.

Grant Randall is the president and CEO of Windsor Technology, an electronics contract manufacturer with the ability to produce an entire product or the key components from programmed, tested and conformal coated printed circuit board assemblies and cable/wire harnesses to complete Final Box Build. Windsor Technology products can be found around the world in industrial automation, mass transit, medical, defense, communication and electronic imaging technologies. In addition to contract electronic manufacturing services, Windsor provides material procurement, test engineering, statistical assurance and resource Management. Randall is a current member of the Young Presidents Organization of the Empire State Chapter. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.
