Nazareth presents Tony-nominated musical "Bonnie & Clyde" April 18-20

Rochester, NY (04/02/2019) — The Nazareth College Theatre and Dance Department and Theatre League brings America's favorite criminal lovers back to life in the Tony-nominated musical Bonnie and Clyde at the Nazareth College Arts Center. The bank-robbing duo takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, Friday April 19, and Saturday April 20. There is also a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday April 20. Performances are in the Callahan Theater, located on the campus of Nazareth College at 4245 East Avenue, Rochester, 14618.

Bonnie & Clyde was written by Frank Wildhorn (music), Don Black (lyrics), and Ivan Menchell (book). It is directed by New York City-based Aaron Galligan-Stierle with musical direction by Corinne Aquilina, assistant professor and program director of musical theatre at Nazareth College.

THE PERFORMANCE
In the midst of the Great Depression, small-town nobodies Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow spark a bold and reckless romance-driven by a mutual desire for fame and fortune. As their law-breaking adventure spirals in unexpected directions, their inevitable fate grows closer. Watch their rise to outlaw infamy unfold in this retelling of two of America's most wanted criminals.

"I couldn't be more excited to bring to life this timely story of the desperate need for connection and legacy in the midst of devastating poverty and upheaval," said director Aaron Galligan-Stierle. "The cast is bringing their total commitment and passion and I can't wait to share this production with the Rochester community."

POST-SHOW TALKBACK
Willie Lightfoot is a Rochester City Council member at-large and the creator and chairman of ROC Against Gun Violence Coalition. He and the cast of Bonnie & Clyde will be giving a talk back following their opening performance on Thursday, April 18.
