Nazareth College celebrates its graduates with Postcard Project 2020
May 8 and 9 would have been Commencement weekend, so faculty and staff wrote personal postcards to each graduate!
Rochester, NY (05/07/2020) — Nazareth College graduates are not able to walk across the stage to receive their diplomas for what was their original Commencement weekend, so Nazareth faculty and staff are sending congratulations to them with the Postcard Project 2020!
Nazareth graduates would have been graduating this Friday, May 8 (graduate and doctoral degrees) and Saturday, May 9 (undergraduates), at the College's Golisano Training Center before the COVID-19 crisis changed our world. Instead, all college students finished their semesters online, and for seniors, that meant not getting to finish out their college journeys with many of the on campus memories of their final semester.
Nazareth College faculty and staff wanted each graduate to know that they are still being thought of and celebrated, so the Nazareth community united for the Postcard Project 2020.
Within just one hour of sending the campus-wide email, the spreadsheet was full with more than 100 participants signing up for the project from all over campus. Even more people wanted to take part, so they sent in videos or written greetings that are posted on a website.
Postcards should be arriving in graduates' mailboxes by Friday, May 8.
