Nazareth Announces New School Of Business and Leadership Name

Rochester, NY (03/28/2019) — As Nazareth College takes on the mission to develop transformational leaders who can continue to adapt and innovate in the challenging business environment, it is renaming its business school the School of Business and Leadership (SBL). This name change communicates the College's move toward programs more tailored to the current business environment driven by rapid change and increased transience. As SBL tailors its curriculum to reinforce key areas of focus, this name will more accurately reflect its commitment to serving the entirety of the business discipline, not just the sub-field of management, as well as giving students the skills to succeed in the greater Rochester business community and beyond.

"Today our graduates are embarking on their business careers in the business environment full of disruptions, uncertainties, and turbulences," said School of Business and Leadership Dean Kenneth Rhee. "Disruption and change are the only certainties in the future of business. We strive to prepare our students with a professional curriculum, a liberal arts core, and hands-on experience. At Nazareth, students have the opportunity not only to learn business knowledge and practice leadership, but also broaden their perspectives and enlarge their knowledge base that will help them to become outstanding leaders and navigate change."

The SBL at Nazareth offers innovative undergraduate and graduate programs taught by outstanding faculty in a learner-friendly environment that encourages both creativity and self-directed actions. Experiential or action learning is the key learning paradigm in SBL, where the safe learning environment allows students to experiment and learn from their experiences. A brand-new SBL Leadership Fellows Program, allows freshmen and incoming freshmen to apply to join a multi-year cohort program to develop leadership skills and gain a competitive advantage when job seeking. Students gain real world experiences through internship and community engagement with the collaboration of the Rochester business community, including non-profit organizations.
