Hundreds of Nazareth University students head out to the Rochester community for Naz in Action Day, Aug. 21
Rochester, NY (08/20/2025) — Nazareth University's new students are heading out into the Rochester community for Naz in Action Day. The students will be assigned to one of more than 30 community partners for a day of service. From sorting clothing donations to assisting with backpack and school supply distribution, Naz in Action introduces new students to the wider Rochester area community and to community engagement opportunities and career paths that support our Rochester community.
WHEN: Thursday, August 21 | students arrive at sites between 1-1:30 p.m. and finish between 3:30-4 p.m.
WHERE: The following Naz in Action sites are approved for media:
- Agape Haven of Abundance | Lake Ave Baptist Church, 19 Jones Avenue, Rochester: Support summer camp with art projects, games, story time, and yard work
- Keeler Park Tenants Association | 501 Seneca Manor Dr., Rochester: Street clean up, Cleaning walls and stairwells
- Rochester Greenovation | 22 Flint Street, Rochester: Cleaning, organizing, and sorting a variety of items in their 17,000 square foot second-hand store.
- Rochester EOC | 161 Chestnut Street, Rochester: Back-to-school campus readiness. Organizing, cleaning, and classroom setup.
- Taproot Collective | 20 1st Street, Rochester: Weed, water, mulch, and harvest in their community garden.
