Hundreds of Nazareth University students head out to the Rochester community for Naz in Action Day, August 28

Rochester, NY (08/27/2026) — Nazareth University's new students are heading out into the Rochester community for Naz in Action Day on Friday, August 28. The students will be assigned to one of more than 30 community partners for a day of service. From organizing school classrooms to stocking food pantry shelves, Naz in Action introduces new students to the wider Rochester community and to engagement opportunities and career paths that support it.

WHEN: Friday, August 28 | students arrive at community sites between 1-1:30 p.m. and finish between 3:30-4 p.m.

WHERE: The following Naz in Action sites are approved for media:

Bhoja | 250 E Main St., Suite 130, Rochester, NY, 14604 (in the Mercantile on Main Commissary: Cleaning and resetting the workspace and van hotboxes

The People's Pantry | 555 Avenue D, Rochester, NY, 14621: Working in community garden and stocking food pantry shelves

Shift2 | 1555 Lyell Ave. Suite 120, Rochester, NY, 14606: Deconstructing desktop computers and sorting components for recycling

St. John's | 150 Highland Ave, Rochester, NY 14620: Visiting with residents for a sing-along program

Villa of Hope School | 3300 Dewey Ave., BUILDING 12, Rochester, NY 14616: Organizing school classrooms and closets
