Several Nazareth College voice students, including Natalie Burrows of Penfield, were recognized by the Central New York-Finger Lakes Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (CNYFL-NATS) during its annual Student Audition on October 29, 2016 at Ithaca College.

Several Nazareth College voice students, including Natalie Burrows of Penfield, were recognized by the Central New York-Finger Lakes Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (CNYFL-NATS) during its annual Student Audition on October 29, 2016 at Ithaca College.

The awards celebrate high standards of vocal art. Students from throughout the region competed in classical and musical theatre categories. Congratulations to the following Nazareth College students for their awards:

• Joel Touranjoe, music education, voice studio of Dr. Mario Martinez, First Place in the First Year Men Category;
• Kaitlyn Buckert, musical theatre, voice studio of Joan Floriano, First Place in the Lower Division Women Category;
• Ben Reisinger, vocal performance, voice studio of Dr. Mario Martinez, Third Place in the Fourth/Fifth Year Men Category.

In addition the following students were named finalists in their respective categories:

• Natalie Burrows, voice studio of Joan Floriano;
• Tayler Kochan, voice studio of Andrea Folan;
• Toby Young, voice studio of Andrea Folan.
