Michaela Soules of Camden, N.Y., Earns Empire 8 Conference Player of Week at Nazareth College

Michaela Soules, freshman midfielder on the Nazareth College women's soccer team, has been named Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week for the period that ended Sept. 15.

Soules, of Camden, N.Y. and a graduate of Camden High School, helped the Golden Flyers secure a win and a tie in a pair of non-conference matches in the North Country last weekend. She scored the tying goal with 17 minutes left in regulation of Friday's 1-1 tie against 23rd-ranked St. Lawrence. She then delivered the game-winning goal with :36 left in the first overtime of Saturday's 1-0 victory over Clarkson.

Soules' goals were the first two of her career for the Golden Flyers (3-1-2), who open their Empire 8 Conference schedule Saturday at Alfred at 5 p.m.
