Kassandra Buseck of Johnstown, NY, Earns Athletic Honor

Kassandra Buseck of Johnstown, NY, has earned athletic honors.

Teammates Maria Allocco, Kassandra Buseck and Madi Wickens are Nazareth's representatives on the American Volleyball Coaches Association's New York Region All-Star Team. Allocco and Wickens were two of the 14 players named to the regular team while Buseck was an honorable mention choice.

Allocco has enjoyed an honor-laden volleyball career for the Golden Flyers, who finished 26-10 overall and were runners-up in the Empire 8 in 2014. She was named Empire 8 Player of the Year after leading the team with 416 kills to boost her career total to 1,339. She also had a team-best 67 service aces and ranked second with 72 blocks. She was named E8 Player of the Week five times in her career and was recently chosen to the Academic All-District team by the College Sports information Directors of America.

Buseck finished second on the team with 406 kills to go with 23 aces and 64 blocks. She also surpassed the 1,000-kill mark for her career and ranks 10th all-time with 1,105.

Wickens amassed 1,208 assists in 2014 to rank second in the Empire 8. She ranks fifth all-time in assists with 2,064. She also ranked second on the team with 62 service aces and third in digs with 237.
