Nazareth University and Point of the Bluff announce Concerts at Beston Hall, extending popular concert series year round

Collaboration will provide Nazareth students opportunities to learn from world-class musicians and to work with music industry professionals

Rochester, NY (09/05/2024) — A popular Finger Lakes destination for summer outdoor music will continue its world-class concert series all year round thanks to a new collaboration - Concerts at Beston Hall - between Point of the Bluff Vineyards and Nazareth University.

Since 2018, Point of the Bluff has hosted summer concerts overlooking scenic Keuka Lake in Hammondsport, New York. Starting in Fall 2024 this new collaboration with Nazareth will bring premier concerts to the Nazareth campus at the Glazer Music Performance Center's Beston Hall.

In welcoming Point of the Bluff, this collaboration showcases Nazareth's commitment to the arts while further elevating the profile of the state-of-the-art Glazer Music Performance Center. The collaboration also will offer the unique chance for students in Nazareth's School of Music and School of Business to have experiential learning opportunities with guest artists, tour and production managers, engineers, lighting designers, and technicians, which may include workshops, master classes, lectures, side-by-sides, internships, and other hands-on educational experiences.

With Concerts at Beston Hall, Point of the Bluff continues to grow its preeminent boutique summer concert series into year-round musical experiences. A curated list of top-tier artists will showcase the acoustically world-class facility with a rich heritage of appreciative audiences and a history of hosting outstanding artists and musical productions.

The first announced concerts in the series will feature globally-acclaimed, Juno Award-winning Nouveau Flamenco guitarist Jesse Cook and band on Saturday, November 9, 2024, and Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Paula Cole on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.

"Since 2018, Concerts at Point of the Bluff has been providing artists and patrons alike with a world-class concert experience unique within the Finger Lakes region," said Josh Massicot, general manager of Concerts at Point of the Bluff. "The passion we have for making hand-crafted wines, growing food with sustainable practices, and composing farm-to-table fine dining experiences is the same passion that drives us to curate a diverse and exciting roster of international touring artists and to welcome them and their fans. We are excited to share that passion directly with Nazareth University and the Greater Rochester community, and we are thrilled at the opportunity to foster the next generation of industry professionals."

"Nazareth University is preparing students for careers in all facets of music, from music business and the entertainment and recording industry to performance - so, to have this collaboration with Point of the Bluff include student-facing experiences and opportunities is so important - these real-world experiences exemplify what a Nazareth education is all about," said Maureen Finney, Nazareth University provost. "Nazareth also has a long-history of bringing unmatched great concert experiences to the Rochester community, so we are truly looking forward to welcoming these world-class artists thanks to our collaboration with Point of the Bluff."

About the Concerts at Beston Hall performances

The first concert in the series is Juno-winning Canadian guitarist Jesse Cook who is making a stop at Nazareth University's Beston Hall as part of his worldwide tour on November 9, at 7:30 p.m. Best known for his rumba flamenco style music, he has been a leading proponent of the genre since he burst on the scene in 1995. Among his many accolades, in 2008, he won the silver medal in Acoustic Guitar magazine's prestigious Players' Choice Awards behind the legendary Paco De Lucia. He is a three-time winner of the Canadian Smooth Jazz award for Guitarist of the Year.

Paula Cole will perform at Beston Hall on May 20, 2025. Her eleventh studio album, "Lo" is Cole's first album of original compositions in five years. As the first woman to ever be nominated for the Best Producer Grammy in her own right, Paula Cole returns to the helm of recording as sole producer. Cole has been a truth-teller, a provocateur, a feminist, a rebel, and a brilliant autobiographical writer who has pushed for personal honesty and social change. She has released music for over three decades, and recorded and performed with greats such as Peter Gabriel, Dolly Parton, Missy Elliot, Meshell N'Degeocello, Melissa Etheridge, Herbie Hancock, Sarah McLachlan, Terri Lyne Carrington, Emmylou Harris, Nona Hendrix, Paul Buchanan of The Blue Nile, to John Paul White and Jason Isbell.
