Corrected: Nazareth College An Evening with Kevin Hines: NEW LOCATION
Suicide Prevention & Mental Health Advocate, Oct. 24 at Nazareth Arts Center
This release is being re-sent due to a move to a larger location on the Nazareth College campus to accommodate the attendees. It is now in the Nazareth Arts Center Callahan Theater.
Rochester, NY (10/19/2017) — In September 2000, Kevin Hines leapt off the Golden Gate Bridge, a suicidal gesture that has resulted in death for most of the 2000 people who have made that jump since the bridge was erected in 1937. But he survived, and is now sharing his story to help others battle their mental battles one day at a time.
Award winning author of "Cracked, Not Broken: Surviving and Thriving After a Suicide Attempt" Kevin Hines will share his inspirational story at the Nazareth College Arts Center on Tuesday, October 24, at 7 p.m. in the Callahan Theater. Hines is a brain/mental health advocate, award-winning global speaker, bestselling author, and documentary filmmaker who reaches audiences with his story of an unlikely survival and his strong will to live. Two years after he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at age 19, he attempted to take his life by jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge. He is one of only 34 people to survive the fall, and the only one to regain full physical mobility. He is the only Golden Gate Bridge jump survivor who is actively spreading the message of living mentally healthy. His presentation is free and open to the public. Nazareth College is located at 4245 East Avenue, Rochester, N.Y., 14618. For more information, contact Megan Clifford, Nazareth College assistant director of Health and Counseling, email@example.com or (585)389-2192.
